Guest Access to HuskyCT Courses through NetID Account Sponsorship

Last revised on 4/16/2025 by DSM

Overview

Several situations exist in which individuals without an official UConn NetID may need HuskyCT guest access.

  • Newly hired instructors may need to begin planning and building their courses in HuskyCT before they have received their official NetID.
  • Newly hired instructors teaching an existing course may need access to orient themselves to the HuskyCT teaching environment before they have received their official NetID.
  • Faculty teaching online may need to add guests lecturers or facilitators to their online courses.
  • Faculty may want to use HuskyCT to share and collaborate with colleagues outside of the University.

Information Technology Services (ITS) has a process that department heads, program directors, and other responsible parties can follow to address these situations.

Using the NetID Management System's Account Sponsorship UConn employees can create, sponsor, and manage accounts for affiliates, student employees, and employees who need a temporary NetID. Department heads and program directors should follow this process for instructors teaching online courses who need HuskyCT access prior to receiving their official NetID.

If you have further questions on account sponsorship policies or have other questions, contact ITS’ Technology Support.
